Carol Burnett's costume designer came up with the idea for her costume. They kept it under wraps till they were filming live. Apparently it is still the longest live studio audience laugh at 2 solid minutes.<br />The clip is called "went with the wind". The costume supposedly took an entire week to make..... and it is without a doubt a showstopper. I saw (one version of) Scarle...These are gorgeous! I saw (one version of) Scarlett's "curtain" dress when I was a kid. It was awesome. I think the dressing gown is actually my favorite of these. It reminds me a lot of the garments in Pre-Raphaelite paintings. And more especially of Ellen Terry's crocheted beetle-wing dress.<br /><br />I have been reading your blog for a couple of years now, and really enjoy it.
