I'm a Sew Weekly Contributor for 2012!

When Mena’s call for 2012 contributors went out, it was with some trepidation that I threw my name in the proverbial hat.  Don’t get me wrong, I adore what she has done for the sewing community.  However, I do not know if I could ever handle the pressure of completing an entire outfit from scratch in one week.  How on earth does she do it?

Well, guess what, this year the pressure it somewhat alleviated.  Instead of five woman shouldering the burden, there are quite a few of us who will be contributing this year.

I am sure that most of you are already aware of The Sew Weekly.  If not, make sure you stop on by.  But beware, it is an addictive habit, and you will be back for more!

I would like to say that, because the pressure has been relieved, I will complete every single weekly challenge, however, I have already missed this week.  But I am not going to kick myself – I am too busy sewing!  I finally got my sewing motivation back!

    1. Thanks! I suppose I can handle finishing a project in a week - but to have to do that for 52 weeks in a row would probably cause a breakdown. I honestly don't know how those ladies did it, but is sure was fun following them on the journey!

  3. I didn't dare put my name in when she originally asked for 2012 contributors because that would be a burden rather than a pleasure for me, but now that there are ~120 of us, I'm sewing along too. I figure if I miss a week or two, no one will notice, but it is still enough to keep me motivated and inspired by everyone else's work, such as yours!

Also, the discussions for a Bay Area sewers meet up has moved. There's talk of going to the Alameda Antiques Fair on February 5th. Do join! http://www.meetup.com/Bay-Area-Sewists/events/47594972/

  6. Wow, that's great! I'm always in awe of the gals (and guys) who can make a whole outfit in such short order! Sewing for a deadline is just not good for my sanity... or marriage... or complexion... ha ha ha

PS - Thanks for the kind words over at the MBP blog. I rock the jumpsuit every chance I get! ;-)
