Fashion News, August 1938

This is a picture of a woman (it might be you) choosing her clothes for the whole summer.  No ordeal of trying on dresses in hot stores for her.  No last-minute frantic rush for vacation togs.  Sitting in her own cool living room, she goes shopping for exactly the smart clothes she needs . . . weeks ahead, while fabric selections are at their widest . . . in Butterick Fashion Magazine.

  1. Great 30s designs. Watch some Sylvia Sydney films (or Youtube snippets) from the 30s to see these styles showcased - she's your kind of independent gal.

  3. Looking at those I'm thinking the new butterick 5951. I have the perfect fabric in my stash.

  4. My goodness, these are lovely. My favourite looks, by and large, from the 1940s hair from '37 onward, so these endlessly pretty fashions couldn't be more up my ally. I shall be swooning over them all Labour Day weekend! :)
